Introduction
This online exhibit is based on The Mt. Zircon Bottle at 100: A Look Back at the Origins of a Unique Piece of "Roadside Architecture," an exhibit was on view at the Museums of the Bethel Historical Society from 2022 to 2024, and was created to honor of the 100th birthday of the Mt. Zircon Bottle.
This online exhibit documents the history of the Mount Zircon Moon Tide Spring Company bottle-shaped lunch stand, which was restored by Museums of the Bethel Historical Society Executive Director Emeritus Randall H. Bennett in the 1990s and is now owned by MBHS.
The exhibit features a detailed timeline of the mineral spring business founded in the mid-19th century by Dexter Abbott, accompanied by dozens of historic photographs and documents as well as photos of the restoration of the bottle-shaped lunch stand.
