Description
Uses historic film footage and interviews to give a history of alpine skiing and related snow sports in New England. Shows early ski jumping and early downhill racing. Describes the introduction of the rope tow, and how equipment improvements led to the popularity of downhill skiing in the 1960s. Also discusses the growth of nordic skiing, the rediscovery of the telemark turn and the invention of the snowboard.
